Los Alamos Ski Race Club
Due to federal, state, and local response to COVID-19 the Los Alamos Ski Race Club is carefully considering our plans for the 2020-2021 Season. Our current planning is based on a number of factors including:
Los Alamos Ski Race Club was unable to hold our annual ski swap this year which has resulted in lower revenue for this season. The club has reasonable reserves but needs to plan accordingly.
Current NM state Covid-19 orders restrict group sizes to no more than five individuals, 4 athletes and 1 coach/volunteer.
Current NM state Covid-19 guidelines mandate that club activities can only conduct skill development and athlete conditioning . Competitions and scrimmages are currently prohibited.
The State of New Mexico has issued a rule concerning youth programs that limits participation to those who live within a 50-mile radius of the program's location.
Pajarito mountain will have a number of restrictions when they open including limited use of indoor facilities (potentially restrooms only) and only family members can share a ski lift chair.
Snow making at Pajarito mountain is limited with only enough water to get good coverage on the lower areas. We are waiting on snow! Fortunately the weather is cooperating.
Your Los Alamos Ski Race Club board is continuing to meet and discuss our 2020-2021 plans with all of these factors in mind. We encourage those interested to sign up to our mailing list. We will continue to provide updates via this website and our mailing list.
We appreciate your continued support and interest in the Los Alamos Ski Race Club.
